java - Get data from MQ and add id number for it -

i new java. need receive data mq, each time receive data give id number, 1, 2, 3..... question when restart program, how can make id number keep adding, not start 1. example, received 3 data mq, ids 1, 2 , 3, close program. next time run program , recieve data, want id number start 4, not 1. know can done record id number text file, worry safety, because every 1 can change it. there better way this?
