java - SQL service and database check with hibernate -

i'm using hibernate serialize java objects, check if sql service running , database present, before use of hibernate's function.

how do?

i seen method calling sql function, i'm looking more integrated hibernate, read hibernate.cfg.xml access parameters, example.
